My name is Sara, I’m 25 and I have been playing games since I was small. I started out on consoles such as GameCube, Dreamcast, PS1 etc. Now I mainly play Apex Legends, Pokémon, and cozy games like Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley and Slime Rancher.

If you could please start by telling us about yourself, what games do you play, when did you start playing?
My name is Sara, I’m 25 and I have been playing games since I was small. I started out on consoles such as GameCube, Dreamcast, PS1 etc. Now I mainly play Apex Legends, Pokémon, and cozy games like Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley and Slime Rancher.
I create content on tiktok, @randomlycollecting, which is a mixture of everything that I’m interested in. Mainly books/manga, squishmallows, shopping hauls, unboxings and occasionally my trips to conventions. In the future, I hope to return to streaming on twitch, which is xsailorsara.
If you play a TCG what is your favourite deck, game format and card?
I don’t play any TCG but I do collect Pokémon cards as I like Pokémon and love the artwork on the cards.
Do you feel you find that more females are getting involved in gaming since you started playing?
Yes, 100%. Gaming was definitely a Man’s world but now there are more female gamers and streamers.
Can you tell us about a gaming character or game developer who has inspired you and why?
I absolutely adore Loba and Wraith from Apex Legends. Their voice actors are incredible and have really brought the characters to life.
What challenges do you think women face in the gaming world and How can the gaming community be changed to make it more inclusive for women?
I think there is a lot of stigma around women not being able to game or be good at video games. I do see a lot of women receive hate just for making gaming content. I think that the gaming community needs to be more accepting as a whole. Women can work in this industry too.
How do you see the future of women in gaming, both as players and as creators of games and gaming content?
As players, and a player myself, I would love to see more women in competitive gaming. There are a lot of talented women who don’t have the same opportunities as men to compete. Take Apex for example, ALGS is amazing to watch but it would be even better if there was a women’s tournament too.
