Whether you're just starting out or an experienced duellist, this game guarantees hours upon hours of riveting gameplay that will keep you engaged and captivated!

Yu-Gi-Oh Phases

In the Yu-Gi-Oh master duel game, the gameplay is split into different phases, which are like different parts of the game. There are three main phases: the Draw Phase, Main Phase, and Battle Phase.

The Draw Phase is when you draw a single card from your deck.

During the Main Phase, you can play cards like monsters, spells and traps. You can also use their special abilities, such as attacking with monsters or using a trap to stop an opponent's attack.

When you enter the Battle Phase, it's your time to strike! Attack your foe's creatures with your own monsters or directly attack their life points. When they reach zero, you win - it can't get any better than that!

You need to know what kinds of cards you can use at different times. For example, you cannot attack with a Monster Card during the Main Phase. You can only do this during the Battle Phase.

By understanding the different phases and their rules, you'll be able to develop your strategy and outsmart your opponents!

Monsters

Monsters are an important part of Yu-Gi-Oh. You can summon them to fight for you, and they come in all different shapes, sizes and designs.

When it's your turn, you can bring a monster from your hand to the field in either face-up attack or defense position. To conduct an ordinary summon, though, there must be an available space on the field and the monster's level cannot exceed four. Luckily for you, certain monsters possess special abilities that allow them to help obtain more cards or even stronger ones! Goblindbergh is a monster card and it’s ability allows you to another level or lower monster from your hand when summoned normally. This is a great card to help build your field.

Dark Magician and Blue-Eyes White Dragon are all easy-to-use monsters that can be a great asset in your game. Although these creatures may pose some difficulty to summon, their power is unmatched when you do manage to bring them into play.

For new players just starting out, monsters like Elemental HERO Neos, Stardust Dragon and Gagaga Magician are perfect choices as they not only have great abilities but also are easy to summon. Goblindbergh is a monster card I'd suggest as its ability allows you to another level or lower monster from your hand when summoned normally. This is a great card to help build your field.

By mastering how to use monsters and their unique abilities, you'll be able to build a strong deck and become a Yu-Gi-Oh master in no time!

Spells/Traps

Spells and Traps are important cards in Yu-Gi-Oh that can help you win the game. They're used to disrupt your opponent's strategies or to strengthen your own.

Spell cards are very helpful. Two of these are Monster Reborn and Jar of Greed. Monster Reborn helps you by bringing a monster back from the graveyard. Pot of Greed helps you by giving you two extra cards.

Traps are invaluable cards that can be strategically deployed during your opponents’ turn to obstruct their tactics or defend yourself. Mirror Force, for instance, is an incredibly forceful trap card capable of eradicating all enemy monsters attacking you. Alternatively, Negate Attack provides a great effect by blocking any direct attacks from the opposing player.

You can play your Spell and Trap cards face-down on the field during your turn. This will surprise your opponent. You can activate these kinds of surprises during both your and their turns to take control of the game! Be prepared for some unpredictable moments when you use this hidden strategy.

When playing Spells and Traps, it is important to know when you can play your cards and what conditions must be met before playing them. For example, some cards have a requirement such as having a certain number of cards in either your hand or on the field before they can be activated.

By mastering how to use Spells and Traps, you'll be able to disrupt your opponent's strategies and strengthen your own. Start with easy-to-use cards like Monster Reborn and Negate Attack, and you'll be on your way to becoming a Yu-Gi-Oh master!

Staple Cards

Staple cards are essential to many Yu-Gi-Oh decks, regardless of their current theme or strategy. These cards can provide support for your monsters and disrupt your opponent's plans simultaneously.

Mystical Space Typhoon and Raigeki are two staple cards that every duelist must have in their deck. Mystical Space Typhoon can obliterate any Spell or Trap card your adversary has set, while Raigeki will eradicate all of the monsters on your opponent's side of the field. In addition to being useful for nearly any kind of deck archetype, these staples offer an invaluable opportunity to eliminate opposing cards and remove their path towards victory with your own plays!

Another important staple card is Solemn Judgment, which can negate any card your opponent plays at the cost of some of your life points. This card can be a lifesaver when your opponent plays a powerful card that could change the course of the game.

When playing staple cards, it's important to remember that you can only have three copies of any given card in your deck. This means you'll need to choose which staple cards to include in your deck based on your playstyle and the decks you'll be facing. I suggest having a Maxx C or ash blossom & joyous spring these cards are used a lot in Master Duel.

Staple cards can be a great addition to any Yu-Gi-Oh deck, as they can help you to disrupt your opponent's strategy and build up your own. Some other staple cards to consider including in your deck are Dark Hole, Bottomless Trap Hole, and Compulsory Evacuation Device. By using these powerful cards, you'll be well on your way to becoming a Yu-Gi-Oh master!

Solo Mode

Solo mode in Yu-Gi-Oh is a way to play the game by yourself, without competing against other players. In this mode, you can face off against the computer to test out different strategies and learn how to play the game.

It’s a fun way to test out your skills and learn at the same time. You can earn rewards like cards and gems that help you build stronger decks. Plus, you can challenge different computer opponents whom each have their own unique strategies and decks. This way, you can see what works best for you and try out new things without the pressure of playing against real people.

Overall, solo mode is a fun and rewarding way to enjoy Yu-Gi-Oh, whether you're a beginner or an experienced player. So why not give it a try and see how you fare against the computer?

What are Gems?

You can earn rewards like gems that help you get new and stronger cards for your deck.

We suggest starting with the Synchro of Unity deck, as it includes three copies of Mystical Space Typhoon which can be very useful for beginners and are free staple cards.
