Disney Lorcana: Archazia’s Island Set Release – What You Need to Know
Posted by Magic Madhouse on 19th Mar 2025
The voyage across the perils of the Azurite Sea is finally over and the Illumineers are now able to set foot on Archazia's Island where new mysteries and adventures await them. We know that on the Island the Illumineers found Archazia, an ancient Illumineer able to teach our adventurers how to conjure characters that possess the abilities and characteristics typical of two different Ink Colours. These dual-Ink Glimmers are extremely powerful and very versatile and therefore they can be powerful allies in the upcoming battle against Jafar who also reached the Island. The powerful grand vizier of Agrabah not only found the mystical Island but he was also able to rebuild the Hexwell Crown gaining new powers and the ability to summon a new type of glimmers, the Illusions.

After following closely the travels of our heroes through the Azurite sea, the wait is over for all the fans of Disney Lorcana the Trading Card Game as Ravensburger has finally released all the details on the upcoming new set including all the cards that will soon be available in store. There is a lot to be excited for in the seventh set of this TCG and first set of 2025 but let's go in order to summarize what we know so far. As I am conscious there are players who do not want to see any spoiler of new cards, I have limited those to be at the end of the content and I will put a note on the related section in an effort to allow everyone to read the rest of the content without any risk.
Archazia’s Island – Set and Products overview
Archazia Island is the seventh set of Disney Lorcana and is set to release in your local card stores on the 7th of March while online vendors and mass distribution will need to wait the 20th of March. The set core product is the Booster pack that will include as usual 12 cards (6 common, 3 uncommon, 2 Rare, Super Rare or Legendary and 1 foil card of any rarity). With respect to previous sets, each pack will also include a random Lore card . Once all together, the 20 cards (number to be confirmed) will unravel the story of the Island and help progressing the overall Disney Lorcana story line. This is a completely new type of bonus card and it is quite an exciting addition to the game that I hope Ravensburger will continue in future sets.
The enchanted style of Archazia's Island are as colourful as those released in previous sets although they are designed to mix geometric shapes with nature to create beautiful whimsical images. I have too admit they all look really nice and I cannot wait to pull some of them. We also recently have been able to see the new Set Championship cards featuring an alternative version of the new dual-Ink Floodborn "Hiro Hamada - Armor Designer". As a remind, these prizes will include both a non-foil version with black borders as participation prize and a foil continuous art version for the top 8 participants.
Archazia's Island Booster Box will come with 24 Booster Packs for a total of 288 cards. Basing on statistics, a box will usually include 3 to 6 Legendary cards with a chance of pulling an Enchanted card every 4 boxes. Both Boxes and Packs will feature Mirabel Madrigal, The Mad Hatter and Bolt as main Characters from the set.
Together with the Booster Packs and Boxes, players will be able to purchase a new Illumineer's trove and a new type of Gift Set. The Trove will be very similar to the ones previously released and will include 8 Booster packs, 6 Damages dice, One lore counter (featuring Bolt) and seven cards dividers. The numbers of dividers has been actually increased to include one divider per Ink colour as usual, plus one showing all the colour icons that can be used to separate Promo or Enchanted cards for example.
The gift set has also been improved to make the new one a completely new and interesting product. The Archazia's Island Gift Set is themed around Lilo and it includes an alternative art of “Lilo, Escape Artist” from set 6. The box itself features the same art and is large enough to be used to store your decks or your cards. The gift set also comes with 5 booster Packs although these will not be Archazia's Island Packs but random Packs from set 2 to 6. As these packs will be randomly picked, it seems possible players may find multiple Packs of some sets and not necessarily one for each of the featured collections.
Last but not least, the set will feature new accessories including Deck Boxes and Card Sleeves (based on “Cinderella, Ballroom Sensation” and “Ursula, Deceiver of all”), 2 new playing mats (based on “We could Be Immortals” and “Tigger, In the Crows nest” cards), and two Starter Decks (One Sapphire and Ruby and one Amethyst and Steel).
Archazia’s Island – New themes and Mechanics
The seventh set of Disney Lorcana features a lot of recurring characters from various movies including Big Hero 6, The Beauty and the Beast, 101 Dalmatians and Mulan. The two new movies featured for the first time in this set are Bolt and the Aristocats with plenty of characters from both movies. It should be noted that the set also features an original character, Archazia, that was created specifically for Lorcana.
As usual the new set includes 204 cards equally divided in the familiar six Ink colours. However, this set will be the first one to feature “dual-Ink cards”. These cards are treated as they belong to two Ink colours at the same time and therefore they can be used only in Decks using both colours. The release of these type of cards is a great step ahead in Disney Lorcana as it allows the developers to support a specific type of Deck/Archetype by releasing cards that can only be used in those decks instead of single-Ink cards that can be used in any deck using that colour. This is very welcomed addition in terms of balance and I hope Ravensburger will keep this approach in future sets.
Archazia's Island also introduces a new Character type, “Illusion” and the related keyword, “Vanish”. Illusion Characters seem to be much bigger and tougher in comparison to others with similar costs they but they are immediately banished if an opponent chooses them as target for an action. It is important to point our that this rule does not trigger if the Illusion is challenged or chosen as target for an effect as the rule only refers to Actions (and song of course).
Finally, the new set will also feature a card with the first alternative winning condition in Disney Lorcana, “Donald Duck, Flustered Sorcerer”. This Amethyst Character has a passive ability which increases to 25 the amount of Lore an opponent has to collect in order to win. The player using Donald can still win by reaching 20 Lore. Although the ability is non-stackable and only works if this card is on the field, the release of Donald marks the first attempt to alter the main flow of the game and this is quite interesting by itself.
Key Cards to look for and their Competitive value
As mentioned at the beginning, this section will include a few spoiler thus please skip it if you want to keep the card list as a surprise. For those interested to know, Archazia's Island card list is filled with very interesting cards that will likely change the metagame. A large portion of them are linked to the Sapphire ink colour although they now include pure Sapphire cards and Dual-Ink Sapphire-Ruby and Sapphire-Emerald. The two main cards in this group you should look for are “Belle, Apprentice inventor”, a Common 3 cost character that can be summoned for free by banishing an item, and the Legendary “Tamatoa, Happy as a Clam” that returns 2 items from the discard pile on play to then allow to play one for free every time it quests. In addition to those, the 2 costs Item “Sapphire coil” is also considered meta-defining due to its ability to reduce the Strength of any character by 2 every time a card is placed in the Inkwell. This ability synergizes perfectly with Ruby Strength-based removal and it is much more efficient that using Ice Block.
The other key Legendary cards to look for in your Booster packs are “Bagheera, Guardian Jaguar” and “Mickey Mouse, Inspirational Warrior”. Bagheera is a cost 5, 4/3 Inkable Bodyguard Character with the ability to deal 2 damages to all opponents Characters if it is banished during the opponent turn. Due to this ability and its bodyguard keyword, this card will likely be a great fit in any Amber-Steel aggro deck providing the protection and the removal these decks needed. Mickey Mouse, Inspirational Warrior on the other hand is a 2 cost 1/1 Steel Character that allows the player to play a Character for free every time Mickey banishes an opponent. Considering its very low strength, this card can be a good match against some of the most common aggro cards. Even better, Mickey can be played in an Amethyst-Steel or Ruby-Steel deck that includes Strength-boosting cards like “Merlin, Crab” or “Lumiere, Fiery Friend” to increase its chances to banish an opponent's Character.
Final thoughts
Archazia's Island is looking to be a hoot of a set and not just because there is an owl Character in it. When I first heard about it, I honestly thought that set 7 would include a lot of animal-themed cards like the ones we had in the third set. There would have been nothing wrong with it to be honest. However, the more cards were revealed, the more this set looked interesting and filled with very playable cards. In fact, now that all cards have been revealed, we can all safely say that there will be a lot to be tested once the set releases in March.
I am sure we will be talking a lot about Sapphire decks and engines but I am confident we will have a very broad meta with a lot of different colour combination represented. Archazia's Island personally feels a key turning point for Disney Lorcana and a great step ahead in keeping this game interesting and engaging. Obviously, this means the set will likely be on high demand and my recommendation is to make sure to order any product ahead of the release from Magic Madhouse.
The Lilo Gift Set in particular may be hard to find in retail on launch and ordering from the website will be a great way to avoid you miss-out on this beautiful product. I would also like to remind to keep an eye on the single cards on the website once the set releases as you may be able to secure some competitive cards before prices skyrocket before the Set-championship. Do not also forget that shipment in free on Magic Madhouse, although I am not sure if this also applies when sending items to Archazia's Island...
