Disney Lorcana Fabled Set List Revealed
Posted by Magic Madhouse on 1st Sep 2025
The end of the Reign of Jafar events in the first week of August marks not only the end of the second year of our beloved trading card game but also the start of a new era in Disney Lorcana. Fabled, the ninth and first set of Disney Lorcana’s third year, will in fact bring a lot of important changes to the game; thus, we thought now is a good time to summarize what to expect from Fabled. To make the content accessible to everyone, I decided to not spoil the details of any of the new cards; thus, I tried to reference only those I think you all may have heard about. The main Disney Lorcana webpage will surely come in handy to provide more details about all the new cards eventually so let's get started and see why the new set is interesting!

The main Disney Lorcana webpage will surely come in handy to provide more details about all the new cards eventually so let's get started and see why the new set is interesting!
Fabled: the start of a new adventures in Disney Lorcana
Disney Lorcana Fabled will release on the 29th of August in all local game shops and it will be available on the 5th of September on Magic Madhouse and on all other retailers. This set will not technically continue the story of the mystical realm from where we left it in Reign of Jafar but it will act more as the “summary of the story so far” episode you sometimes have in TV and anime series. The reason for this is that Fabled will mark the beginning of the Set Rotation that will limit the cards the players can use in official events to those released from set five onwards.
This approach is designed to keep the game engaging by limiting the cards you can use at each rotation. It also helps the developers to make sure new cards will not have unwanted interactions with very old cards thus keeping the game more enjoyable. With this in mind, a large portion of the cards featured in Disney Lorcana Fabled will be reprints of cards from set 1 to 4 that will be numbered as set 9 making them legally playable again. These reprints will have the same art and abilities of the original ones therefore it will be a great opportunity for new players to get cards they may be missing from the older sets. However, in some cases the abilities or text on these reprints may have been slightly updated to make them clearer. We also spotted a few of these cards where the rarity has been reduced by one level (from Super Rare to Rare for example). These type of changes are not new to TCG games: it makes easier for players to pull some staple cards while also balancing some casual formats further (i.e. Poorcana).
In addition to the reprints, Fabled will also e the first set to feature two new rarity level: “Epic” that should be less difficult to pull than Legendaries but rarer than Super Rare and “Iconic” that will be much more difficult to pull than Enchanted. The two Iconic cards, “Mickey Mouse, Brave Little Prince” and “Minnie Mouse, Sweetheart Princess” have an amazing full alternate artwork, a unique foil pattern that matches their Ink colour, and foil hot-stamped text and stats. The 18 Epic cards, on the other hand, have the same artwork of cards featured in the set but they have a foil treatment and the boundless artwork similar to the Enchanted cards from The First Chapter.
To make this set even more collectible, Ravensburger also used a Rainbow foil treatment on the two main cards in each of the Fabled Single Player Starter Decks. These cards will only be available in those decks as the foil pattern will be different from the foil version of these cards you can pull from any Booster Pack.
Mechanics and Themes in Fabled
Although Fabled will not feature any new mechanics, two new Disney franchises will make their first appearance in Disney Lorcana Fabled: “Dumbo” and “A Goofy Movie”. There has been a lot of excitement for some of these new cards, in particular for Powerline, the first Ruby Singer revealed for Disney Lorcana. This card will definitely live-up to his fame of the “World's Greatest Rock Star” and we can surely expect to see a few decks built around its ability and its strong synergy with “Maui, Half Shark”.
Interestingly, Fabled will actually feature a few new Ruby Singer Characters and not just Powerline. Considering that also the two main songs from the Goofy movie, “I2I” and “Stand Out”, are also quite interesting, Ruby-Steel Song Decks may become quite interesting for next season.
The cards from the movie Dumbo, on the other hand, seem to be designed to increase even further the strengths of Amethyst-based decks. In particular, the cards revealed so far exploit Evasive Characters in order to draw cards and gaining Lore. Considering how strong Evasive Amethyst Characters have been in the current meta, we can expect to see “Dumbo, The Flying Elephant” a lot going forward in particular after players spotted how this card can be combined with “Monstro, Infamous Whale” in order to gain tons of Lore.
Impact of Disney Lorcana Fabled on the game: what to expect
The community has been a bit torn about the Set Rotation and the significant amount of cards being reprinted in Fabled. In general, rotating sets out periodically is a very common approach in a number of major TCGs thus it does not surprise that Disney Lorcana decided to go in this direction.
Together in preventing the meta-game to stagnate around the same few decks, Set Rotation and reprinting older cards also help new and casual Players to catch-up quickly to all other players without the need for them to buy tons of old and expensive cards.
However, this approach may impact the value of Disney Lorcana cards on the secondary market thus affecting Collectors more than Players. That's one of the reasons Ravensburger added the new card rarities in Fabled and in future sets together with planning tournaments where all cards will be legal (“Infinity Constructed format”).
However, this shift in approach, may impact the way Illumineers purchase Disney Lorcana products. Normally, the most cost-effective way to complete any new set would have been to buy a few Booster boxes, in particular when you can have them at a discounted price from Magic Madhouse and with no shipment fees. This will still be a good approach anyway to hunt for Epic and Iconic cards although some Players may consider buying less sealed Fabled if they have already most of the reprinted cards. In this case, buying singles may feel more efficient although picking the right trusted vendor and the right timing can be quite important.
While Magic Madhouse can strongly help with its large offer of single cards and its trustworthy service, the demand for cards may be quite high in particular for the 33 new cards included in the set. The two new Single Players Decks may be a good alternative to get some of the new cards and some useful reprints together with the two very collectible Rainbow foil cards featured in each of them and a Booster Pack for a chance to get higher rarity cards. The Illumineer’s Trove also has good value as it comes with lots of helpful accessories, four Booster Packs and it doubles as a cheap storage solution for your cards. There are also a new Collection Starter Set, which will include a four-pocket card portfolio, four Fabled Booster Packs, and a unique “Tinker Bell, Giant Fairy Promo” and an Elsa Gift Box featuring “Elsa, The Fifth Spirit” Promo and five random Booster Packs from any set in Rotation. Overall, the Fabled product range will provide good alternatives to both Players and Collectors to fill their Decks and Collections. I cannot wait to see what creative Decks the Set Rotation will bring us!
