Released almost 25 years ago, the Pokémon TCG has gone on to become one with the most widely played and collected trading card games of all time. Over a thousand Pokémon and nine generations later, though, and it’s still that original 151 that people hold most dear.

Fortunately, there’s a whole organised play scheme out there, where you can find players and get games in, right from your local game store. Ask in-store or keep an eye on their social media, as most game stores that sell the Pokémon TCG will also host prerelease events where you can play with the new cards early, in-store leagues, or even casual play sessions to help you get started.

The entire of the Kanto region is confirmed to be in Pokémon 151, though we’re still waiting to see which ones will get the new ex cards, and plenty of it has yet to be revealed. Personally, I’m most excited to see my favourite Pokémon ever, Porygon. It’s always a delight when that little digital dude pops up, and for something as special as Pokémon 151, we’re sure to get some fantastic new art to really let him, and the rest of the generation, shine.
