The Pokémon TCG’s next expansion, Paldea Evolved, takes us deeper into the heart of the Paldea region, as we explore terrastalisation and encounter some of the strongest and rarest Pokémon it has to offer. Let’s take a look at some of the standout cards you’ll definitely be wanting to pick up!

The first are, obviously, the ex Pokémon. There are so many in Paldea Evolved, Meowscarada, Skeledirge, and Quaxly, to the legendary Pokémon Chien-Pao, Ting-Lu, Chi-Yu, and Wo-Chien. But my personal favourites are the less splashy ones – I love the furious-looking Clodsire ex, and Pikachu ex’s new art is just stunning. To go with your new ex final form starters, there are also full-art secret rares of their first two forms, and Sprigatito and Floragato’s are some of the most gorgeous Pokémon art ever printed.

It’s not all ex Pokémon, though. There’s a ton of excellent regular Pokémon to find, too! Tandemaus and its evolution Maushold have become fan favourites of this generation, and between them they have not one, not two, but four different cards in Paldea Evolved. Combine them with the brawny-but-cute Mr. Saguro’s alternate art where he’s cooking for some excited-looking Pokémon, or the alt-art Flamigo posing in the ocean, and this expansion is almost too cute to handle.

Even in the regular cards, there is so much stunning art here. Slaking’s vibrant and uncharacteristically active pose, the stunning colours on Murkrow and Honchkrow, and the unique art styles on Passimian and Pyukumuku all make opening any pack a delight, even if you don’t get a big hitter! There’s also Slowpoke. I don’t think I need to explain that one, it’s Slowpoke. Everyone loves Slowpoke.

Scarlet & Violet: Paldea Evolved launches on June 9th. If any of these cards have taken your fancy, don’t forget to preorder your singles through Magic Madhouse today!
