Pokémon TCG 15 Sky Shattering Delta Reign Chase Cards

Rayquaza may be the master of the skies, but Raikou is the lord of lightning. This legendary dog is beloved by Pokémon fans. A valuable Raikou reprint showed up in the Pokémon 30^th Celebration Classic Collection, and now lightning is striking twice, and Raikou is making a dramatic returning in Delta Reign.

Zinnia is member of the ancient and mysterious Draconid tribe and has a special affinity for Rayquaza and other draconic Pokémon. Her special illustration rare artwork in this set adds to her aura of mystery, depicting her gazing off into the swirling skies above.

Nagimiso, who drew Mega Golisopod ex’s artwork, must be a fan of fighting games, since they’ve drawn Golisopod about to unleash the final attack in what looks like a pretty devastating combo. From its glowing eyes, to the fact that it’s punching directly towards the viewer, this is a Pokémon card that channels pure power.

The skies are the realm of Rayquaza, but the land and sea obey different masters. Groudon, the Continent Pokémon, and Kyogre, the Sea Basin Pokémon, are the other two members of generation 3’s legendary trio. Both Pokémon are doing everything they can to show off their power here. Groudon is coating itself in magma, while Kyogre is riding a wave. The inclusion of these two, alongside Rayquaza, shows how determined Delta Reign’s designers are to take us back to Hoenn.

Cards like Rare Candy and Forest of Vitality help you evolve your Pokémon more quickly, but Talonflame ex doesn’t require any support. Despite being a Stage 2 Pokémon, Talonflame’s ability, currently translated as “Excited Dive”, allows it to be played straight onto your bench if you have any mega evolved colourless Pokémon in play. That means that if you’re running a Mega Kangaskhan ex, or a Mega Rayquaza, then you’ll be able to play Talonflame effectively immediately. Its lone attack also allows you to dig through your deck to grab two cards of any kind, helping you assemble your strategy.

Taking a look at Mega Golurk ex, two things jump out immediately. It has an attack that deals a tremendous 300 damage for only two energy, but it also has an incredibly restrictive ability that prevents it from attacking unless you have 10 or more cards in your hand. Fortunately, Mew ex from 30^th Celebration can copy the attack, while ignoring Golurk’s painful ability, while Alakazam from Mega Evolution can draw enough cards to enable Golurk to sucker punch foes reliably.

Adventure Lantern grabs both a basic fire and lightning energy from your deck without using up your Supporter play for the turn. In a remarkable coincidence, fire and lightning energy cards are exactly what Mega Rayquaza requires to use its attack, so if Rayquaza decks end up being viable then this lantern will help light their way to victory.

Masquerain’s Bug Out attack makes it the centrepiece of a strategy that brings together insects from multiple different sets. You may remember seeing this attack on Sizzlipede in Pitch Black. When a Pokémon uses Bug Out, you reveal the bottom 7 cards of your deck, and deal 50 damage to the opponent for every Pokémon with Bug Out that is flipped over this way. Masquerain can use the attack for only a single energy card, making it the best Pokémon to slide into the active slot in Bug Out decks.

If Budew from Prismatic Evolutions has taught us anything, it’s that sometimes the strongest cards come in the most unassuming forms. Azurill’s ability to search your deck for any type of energy card (not just basics) and attach it to one of your benched Pokémon provides some very reliable utility at no cost.

Everybody loves Eevee, that’s just a universal rule. In this new illustration rare artwork drawn by Hideki Ishikawa, Eevee looks even more adorable than usual, emerging from a handbag, ready to help grab a bite of lunch.

Eevee isn’t the only card in this set that goes for maximum cuteness. This Growlithe card shows the puppy Pokémon waiting loyally at home, like a very good dog, as its owner opens the door and says hello after a long day.

Kecleon is a chameleon, so it’s only appropriate that it surrounds itself with an explosion of colourful flowers in its new illustration rare artwork. Honestly, Kecleon is also channelling some majestic popstar energy here, busting a move and swinging itself skywards with its eyes closed.

Aarune was a nonplayable character from Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, who taught players all about the Secret Base mechanic. This artwork proves that Aarune hasn’t lost any of his enthusiasm for Secret Bases over the years, as he’s right in the middle of a game of capture the flag, having clearly snagged the flag in his hand from someone else’s hidden hideout.

Nidoran ♀ proves that you don’t need to be a full art card to be beautiful. The artwork here was lovingly stitched by the Japanese embroidery artist tayu. It’s tayu’s debut piece, depicting a Nidoran wandering through the woods surrounded by flowers. Hopefully we’ll be seeing far more beautiful handcrafted artwork from tayu in the future.
