Jack Atlas, Resonators & The Crimson King
In Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds Red Dragon Archfiend was the ace monster of the duel king Jack Atlas, but it was far from his only card. He synchro summoned it into play using his resonator cards, as well as supporting his deck using cards like Vice Dragon, Big Piece, Little Piece, and Medium Piece Golem, as well as bringing out Red Dragon Archfiend’s upgraded form, Red Nova Dragon.
Blazing Dominion introduces a variety of retrained versions of these classic cards, bringing their power in line with the modern day. Darkness Resonator helps you rush out materials in order to start synchro summoning quickly. Power Vice Dragon grants additional protection to any Red Dragon Archfiends that it is used to summon, and helps seek out Resonator cards. Fiend Piece Golem helps fill the field with fiends and can adjust its level to assist in synchro summoning.
The Crimson King is the headliner card here. It’s a level 8 Dragon synchro monster that adds any card that mentions Red Dragon Archfiend from the deck straight to its controller’s hand, and can banish itself as a quick effect to special summon a Red Dragon Archfiend card with doubled attack that can’t be destroyed by your opponent’s card effects.
If you’re looking to duel like the king, then Blazing Dominon can grant you a crescendo of burning dragons to help you get started.
The Evolution of Enneacraft in Yu-Gi-Oh! Blazing Dominion
One of the archetypes that got the most support in Blazing Dominion is Enneacraft. Enneacraft cards are a unique pendulum based set of machine monsters that generate ‘E.C. Counters’ which can be cashed in using their archetypal field spell Enneapolis to inflict major burn damage.
Enneacraft cards also care about the chain, as demonstrated by the brand new card Enneacraft Atil. SPIA which possesses a powerful negation ability that can only be used as a chain link 4 or higher, but cancels every effected queued up on the chain before it.
Blazing Dominion also introduces Trito Enneacraft - "exapatisIA" that can flip itself face up to tutor for other Enneacraft cards, and Enneacraft Reset that tutors for the Enneapolis field spell, or can be used to negate the opponent’s card effects if you already have Enneacraft Reset in play.
Enneacraft are undoubtedly a complex archetype, but if you can master their playstyle, then you may be able to flip your way to victory.
High-Rarity Chase Cards in Blazing Dominion
Other key chase cards to look out for include…
Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Gustav Rocket
The Railway archetype was used by Anna Kaboom in Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL. It’s focussed on getting level 10 train monsters into play as quickly as possible and then using them to XYZ summon powerful Superdreadnought cards which have colossal offensive stats, as well as powerful burn effects. Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Gustav Rocket is a new finisher for the archetype that can be brought out by discarding a card and sending a Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Gustav Max from your side of the field to the graveyard. Not only does it possess 5000 ATK points, but it can also negate one of your opponent’s card effects each turn.
Fairy Tail – Matchgiru
Matchgiru can special summon itself into play from either the hand or the graveyard as long as you control a spellcaster monster with 1850 ATK (in other words, another Fairy Tail monster). When it’s summoned, Matchgiru searches the deck for a Fairy Tail spell or trap and adds it to the hand, and it can also transform one of the opponent’s monsters into a “Prince of Fairies”, disrupting the opponent’s plans, and allowing the prince to be fused with your own cards using the effect of Tales of Fairy Tail.
Kewl Tune Rotary
Kewl Tune are a pretty big deck at the moment, and Kewl Tune Rotary is part of the reason for that. This level 1 tuner allows other tuners from the hand to be used as materials in a synchro summon, and can disrupt the opponent’s strategy by returning cards from their graveyard to the deck, or reveal that strategy thanks to its effect, which scans the opponent’s hand.
