As the party travels south toward Hill Town, signs of woodrat raids become increasingly common. Travelers vanish. Trade routes grow dangerous. Rumors of raiders, outlaws, and strange happenings spread across the frontier.
Then the party becomes the target.
A carefully planned ambush leaves the adventurers captured and imprisoned. Escape is only the beginning. The wilderness beyond is filled with hard choices, dangerous factions, and uncertain allies.
Leave the settled lands of Portal Lake behind and journey into a rugged frontier inspired by the American Southwest and northern Mexico.
Vast grasslands give way to sunbaked hills, agave-covered valleys, and windswept trails where predators stalk the open country and danger can arrive from any direction. Out here, survival depends as much on judgment as courage.
Originally written as an optional adventure between Module M3: Dead Dead Bodies and Module M4: Part-Time Professional Mine Janitors, Desperate Dusty Desperados can be played as a stand-alone adventure, a campaign side trek, or the beginning of a larger wilderness sandbox.
