The next English Language Pokémon TCG expansion has officially been announced. Chaos Rising will come out in May, it's focused on Greninja, and will contain translated cards from the Japanese set Ninja Spinner.

In short: Chaos Rising is the next English-language Pokémon TCG expansion, releasing on 22 May 2026 as part of the Mega Evolution series. The set is focused on Greninja and contains translated cards from the Japanese set Ninja Spinner. It will include approximately 120 cards.

The set's card breakdown:

  • 5 Mega Evolution ex Pokémon
  • 5 ex Pokémon
  • 11 Illustration Rare Pokémon
  • 18 Ultra Rare Pokémon and Trainer cards
  • 6 Special Illustration Rare Pokémon and Supporter cards

Five cards have been revealed so far: Mega Greninja, Pyroar, Eternal Flower Floette, Dragalge, and Espurr. Several of these are TCG debuts for Mega forms first introduced in Pokémon Legends Z-A.

Confirmed product range includes Elite Trainer Boxes (with 9 booster packs and a Froakie coin), Booster Bundles (6 packs), Build and Battle Boxes, and Blister Packs.

Let's take a look at the cards we know about so far, and what sort of products we can expect from Chaos Rising.

New Cards

Only five cards from Chaos Rising have been officially revealed so far on the Pokémon TCG website. Mega Greninja, the main character of Chaos Rising, is set up front and center, riding in sideways on their water shuriken.

Then there are several other Pokémon whose mega forms debuted in Pokémon Legends Z-A. These include Pyroar, Eternal Flower Floette, and Dragalge. Given how recently their mega forms were introduced, this is the TCG debut for the transformed version of all of these Pokémon.

Finally, there's Espurr. The only common card on this list that you can expect to see a lot more of when you get your hands on some Chaos Rising packs.


Elite Trainer Boxes

As ever, Chaos Rising Elite Trainer Boxes are going to be the best way of starting up a collection quickly.

Inside this ninjustu-inspired packaging, you'll find 9 Chaos Rising booster packs, as well as a currently unknown promo card. It also contains a selection of dice, energy cards to help you build a deck, sleeves to keep your cards protected, and an adorable Froakie coin.


Booster Bundle

Chaos Rising Booster Bundles come with six packs, that will help you gather together mega evolved Pokmon of all kinds. On the front, you can see four of the five Pokémon from the set that have currently been revealed gearing up for battle. Who knows what else this bundle might be hiding inside?


Build and Battle Box

Chaos Rising Build and Battle Boxes can be used to put together a ready to play deck straight away. They're what's used at prereleases for new sets, to show players all of the possibilities contained within the expansion they represent.

You're guaranteed to get a Pokémon with an exclusive promo stamp, alongside a deck that supports their strategy.


Blister Packs

Then we come to Blister packs. These packets full of boosters come with either a single pack or a handful of them, as well as some singles to spice up the deal.

They're a low cost way of getting more cards, and they make good presents.
