City of the Great Machine is a game of strategic conflict between the nefarious artifical intelligence of the Great Machine and an alliance of citizen Heroes. Set in a grim technocratic steampunk universe, the Heroes must foment rebellion and free humanity before the Great Machine (which can be player or game AI controlled) can complete it's harrowing Master Plan.
The struggle between the Resistance and the Great Machine enters a whole new level. New Heroes with unique abilities join the side of Revolution, while the Great Machine enhances its Servants with powerful implants and mobilises them in secrecy. The governmental Surveillance Zeppelin now cruises over the city, opening up new opportunities for both sides of the conflict.
The Escalation expansion consists of four separate Modules suitable both for One-vs-Many and Solo & Cooperative play. You may add any of them to your games in various combinations. Each Module combines with each other and the core game. Also, the expansion offers a challenging Aeterna scenario designed for both solo and cooperative play.
